What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
According to current information from the CDC, symptoms may appear 2 to 14 days after exposure to the virus. Recent travel can highten the chances of you exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19.

Symptoms include:
  • Cough
  • Fever
  • Trouble breathing
  • Travelled out of the country in the last 14 days

What should you do if you have COVID-19 symptoms?
If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call Community Health Centers of Pinellas, Inc. at (727) 824-8181 or your healthcare provider for medical advice.

Community Health Centers of Pinellas’ team of medical professionals is prepared and ready to help. Give us a call and tell our team about your symptoms and/or possible exposure. Community Health Centers of Pinellas will decide whether you need to be tested, but keep in mind that there is no treatment for COVID-19 and people who are mildly ill may be able to isolate and care for themselves at home. We are offering drive up testing at select CHCP Facilities and telemedicine visits with healthcare providers.  

It’s very important to call ahead so that precautions can be taken to limit potential exposure. 

If you are sick with COVID-19 or think you might have it, we ask that you follow the steps below to help protect other people in your home and community.

» Stay at home.
» Monitor symptoms.
» Get rest and hydrate.
» Inform staff of diagnosis before attending medical appointments.
» Cover your cough and sneezes.
» Wash your hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds.
» Stay in one space/room away from others.
» Avoid sharing personal items.
» Clean all surfaces you touch.
Extra Safety Measures

CHCP is taking extra precautions to continue providing quality health care to you and your family. 

  • Screening of Patients, Staff, and Visitors-Everyone has to have their temperature taken and answer screening questions before entering any center. 
  • Drive Up COVID-19 Testing-COVID-19 testing takes place outside in our parking lots to avoid bringing at risk patients into centers.
  • Designated Well Child Visit Centers-Three centers (Dunedin, Lealman, and Suncoast) have been designated for only healthy children needing a physical or recommended vaccines.
  • Staff Wearing PPE-Staff wear personal protective equipment to keep themselves and patients safe.
  • Curbside Prescription Pick-Up-Patients are able to pick up prescriptions in designated parking spots outside of centers after coordinating with our pharmacy.
  • Less People in Waiting Rooms-Patients are spaced at least 6 feet away and we have a maximum of 5 people in the waiting room. We ask patients to wait in their car until they are called to be escorted to the exam room. Please do not bring any additional guests.

Our staff is continuously cleaning and all centers are disinfected daily.
